Welcome to the new season!!!

My little BUCFPites - I've been quiet so long but I can't stands no more! The college football season is upon and yesterday (Saturday) was chock full of goodness in the way of soon-to-be-mega-conference embarrassments (way to go Oregon State!) and your annual ACC shenanigans (way to go Duke!)

So what's new?

The Pool
Well, we've got a couple of fresh faces and many old-timers in this year's edition of the most ultimate of college football pools. Thirty people made the sign up deadline, which will make for some serious regular season action. I'm still sifting through responses (and chasing others) to find out how many Elimination Pool players we will have (starting next week) and how many second change Bowl pool players there will be (Remember, you have to announce your intentions now because everything is due by the end of September).

Main Pool Action
Well, there are two more games to close out this week's action as of Sunday afternoon. With those two remaining, a familiar face, with an unfamiliar name, sits atop the standings. Yes, "Shajawilsav" is none other than two-time Main pool champion Touchdown Timmy who clocked in with 15 correct picks through Saturday's action. Everyone but White Out hit double digits and I have faith that he will get there (ed note on Monday morning - oops). Good, solid debut for the entire BUCFP nation.

Pick of the Week
I simple don't care about WVU/Marshall or TAMU/SMU enough to include those games for award consideration so I'm giving pick of the week to....

Springfield Atoms, Hokeustheway, and White Out for taking Baylor.

Worst Pick of the Week
Sometimes I struggle with this one, but not this week. Two CLEAR winners here:

UTK'03 for taking Appy St. straight up over VT and Club Zartrump for doing the same with Florida Atlantic over the Gators
